Considering the studies that have stated the relationship between science and Schelling's philosophy, our objective is to advance on the same topic, trying to avoid the pretensions of adjusting Schelling's thought to a particular conception of scientificity or demonstrating its distance from it. Instead, we intend to recover from Schelling's thought some characteristics that he critically awarded to scientific knowledge to put them into discussion with contemporary positions. These characteristics show remarkable and exciting connections with the philosophy of science. Therefore, we try to show the relevance of his thought nowadays since it advances elements of the criticism of Kantianism and modern science, which will be crucial in the light of historicism and postmodern criticism. For this research advance, we will deal with the notion of experiment to note its affinity with current conceptions.
